Capuchin Church (Divina Pastora)
In Motril, history and devotion come together at the Sanctuary of the Divina Pastora. This devotion reached the city in the 18th century, during its expansion across Andalusia, and became one of the most deeply rooted traditions among the people of Motril.
The sanctuary developed between the 18th and 19th centuries, accompanying the city’s urban and social growth and becoming an important religious and heritage landmark.
For more than three hundred years, the Divina Pastora has been part of the life of the city, preserving traditions, collective memory and a legacy that endures to this day.
Visiting this monument means discovering the living history of Motril and a symbol that connects past and present.
